How can a flower bring such joy? My spirituality is found in nature. During the dark, cold days in winter I buy flowers to put in my house to brighten the mood. It is like a switch has been turned on. The weekend weather was sunny and we experienced our first 60 degree day! Along with daylight savings time, it feels like a gift to my soul. Seeing daffodils growing outside is hard to believe, but spring is on it's way!
For those of us who have made it through a long cold winter, the first day of Spring is something we have been waiting for! I went outside looking for something that would help me to celebrate the equinox. I found a ladybug sitting on a purple hyacinth in the sun. I also noticed a seed had settled itself on the edge of the flower. New starts to welcome this Spring day!
Being sick with the flu, my husband surprised me with a beautiful camellia shrub which he will plant after the ground thaws. Knowing that this will blossom before Spring, I have been waiting anxiously for the first blossom. I was surprised when I looked out the window this morning to see the first flower. It is such a beautiful color to brighten this winter morning. This is right out of the camera. No editing required with perfection! Spring will be here soon.
