Waiting....waiting....waiting....I sat and watched the snow geese for quite some time. It was cold and windy as a weather system was approaching. It is always worth the wait watching the flashes of black on the wings dance in the sky. There is a huge roar of noise with the flapping and squawking as they lift off. This is a funny point of view since they are flying away from me. I like their black feet hanging in the air. I was hoping they would fly over me, but that can be messy!
This was such an amazing experience for me. I was out of my comfort zone looking for an opportunity to photograph an eagle. I do not have a large telephoto lens, so I felt at a disadvantage. I watched many photographers capturing shots that I was unable to get. It was when I walked back to my car that an eagle landed in a tree close to me. I was alone and it looked at me as if to say, "Here's your chance!" I was nervous and excited! It stayed for one shot then flew away. I'll never forget it.
